Alishan: Forest Trails, indigenous Culture & Fenqihu Tour

Alishan is famous for its sunrise trains and towering cedar forests — but this tour goes deeper, taking you to four highlights that most visitors miss entirely.  At YUYUPAS Tsou Cultural Park, the Tsou indigenous community shares their traditions through live song and dance performances, set against a backdrop of mountain ridges and tea garden terraces. Then it's on to Fenqihu Old Street, where the legendary railway boxed lunch is best eaten while watching forest mist roll in, don't leave without trying the herbal rice cake (tsháu-á-kué).  The Eryanping Trail winds through rolling tea fields stretching across the hillsides. As you walk, the Chiayi plains unfold below, and on clear days a sea of clouds drifts silently through the valleys. Toward evening, golden light washes over the tea plantations in one of Alishan's most photogenic sunsets.  Pickup is available from Taichung, Kaohsiung, Chiayi, or Alishan, making this an easy add-on wherever you're traveling from in Taiwan.
